The Wynkoop Law Office is dedicated to helping Colorado consumers.

All we do is consumer protection.  It is a very specialized field of law.  We use the latest research tools to stay on top of this ever changing field of law so we can provide our clients with the best possible representation.  Sometimes we even make law.
In Mendoza v. Pioneer Gen. Ins. Co., 2014 Colo. App. LEXIS 443 (Colo. Ct. App. 2014) we had to sue a car dealer’s bonding company to pay a jury verdict.  The bonding company took the position that the bond did not cover verdicts obtained for violation the Colorado Consumer Protection Act.  In a case of first impression the Court of Appeals said that the bond did protect consumers who were wronged by car dealers that violate the Colorado Consumer Protection Act.
In 2010 we obtained another important opinion for consumers when the Court of Appeals ruled that an exception to products liability law did not shield car dealers from breach of warranty claims.  Carter v. Brighton Ford, Inc., 251 P.3d 1179 (Colo. Ct. App. 2010).
In addition to these published appellate opinions we have many other verdicts from consumer laws claims.   We have tried and won cases on the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Colorado Consumer Protection Act and the Truth in Lending Act.  We have also been approved as class action counsel in both state and federal court.
It’s important that your lawyers have the knowledge and experience to back up their words with action.  We try cases. Our last two lemon law trials started out in other lawyers’ offices.  In Secora v. Chrysler and Moffit v. Ford out of state lawyers wrote demand letters that the manufacturers did not take seriously.  When they those consumers could not get results they came to us.  Both cases went to trial and both resulted in significant verdicts for the Plaintiffs.   We are “Colorado Lawyers for Colorado Consumers” for a reason.  We do not take out of state cases.  Time spent trying to learn the local rules and customs of a foreign venue is time not spent on your case.  We believe in community.   Strong enforcement of consumer protection laws benefits not only our clients, but also our neighbors.
We are licenced to practice in Colorado State and Federal Courts and are members of the Colorado Bar Association, the National Association of Consumer Advocates and the Faculty of Federal Advocates.
